Prepare yourself to complete the XTERRA Scales Lake by honing your skills with our triathlon coaches and experienced triathlete group leaders.
Program Details
- Introduction (gear, program goals, training calendar)
- Maintenance and bike fit
- One day indoor swim clinic
- Strength training for triathlon
- Course overview
- One day trail running clinic
- Mountain biking skill sessions
- Weekly group training rides
- Weekly group training runs
- Group Brick training
- Open water swim training (as water temperature permits)
- Transitions, nutrition and race day strategy
Program Times and Locations
Dunigan YMCA and off-site locations. Tuesday and Thursday at 6 PM beginning April 6 and ending June 4th.

The XTERRA Scales Lake is an association-wide event. The funds generated from the triathlon will significantly increase the number of children, youth and families who have the opportunity to experience the extraordinary impact of the following programs: Y-CAP, Diamonds, Swim Lessons, Swim Team, Soccer, Basketball, Midnight Basketball, Youth and Government, Life Skills, After School Rocks (Drug Prevention), Healthy Kids Day, Preschool, Before and After School Childcare, Summer Day Camp, Preschool Sports, Kid's Night Out, Tumbling, Family Night, Fit Kids, Various Senior programs, Adult Wellness Programs, CPR, and Nutrition Classes.
